Microblading 101: Do’s & Don’ts
Do’s:
After your two week healing time after microblading, you can (and should!) begin putting sunscreen directly on top of your new brows to protect them from fading. We recommend SPF 35 or higher. Until you make it to the 14-day mark, however, avoid exposure to sunlight, and wear a hat when you are outside. This will help keep your microbladed area looking sharp, clean and clear. Choose a sunscreen containing zinc oxide for maximum protection
Be patient with the healing process. Taking internal homeopathic arnica can expedite wound healing.
Use the healing balm on your eyebrows every couple hours for two weeks.
Keep them clean.
Use a gentle soap provided by your practitioner.
Don’ts:
• Work-out or sweat heavily on the at least 48 hours after procedure
• Tan or have a sunburned face the day of the procedure.
• Wax or thread 7 days before procedure.
• Take aspirin, blood thinners, niacin, vitamin E, fish oil, CoQ10 and ibuprofen 24 hours before.
• Drink alcohol 24 hours before your procedure.
• Do not let your face or eyebrows get wet until at least 24 hours after the microblading procedure.
• Drink coffee or energy drinks on the day of the treatment.
• Don't Wear makeup on or over your brows for at least 2 weeks.
• Pick at scabs, tug, or itch the eyebrow area.
• Use saunas, go swimming, and or do excessive sweating until the area is completely healed.
• Retinol, acid peels, artificial fragrance on the area, mechanical exfoliation or microdermabrasion over the brow area.
After 1 month, your skin will be completely healed. You shouldn't feel any pain or discomfort. Your eyebrows should also look soft and full. In about 6 weeks, you'll likely have a follow-up appointment with your practitioner.
Once you go through a skin regrowth cycle (4-6 weeks) the pigment will typically reappear but will be about 20% lighter than it was immediately after the procedure.
